Lawrence Vidinha

Middle School Science

Mr. Vidinha is a seasoned teacher with 30 years of experience in Missouri, Texas, California and Utah. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (chemistry, physics, math) from the University of Missouri, as well as a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Missouri State University and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Missouri. Mr. Vidinha is a former teacher of the year (Texas). He embraces a variety of student-centered learning strategies, to include discovery/inquiry based learning, collaborative learning and a curriculum with rigor and relevance. He views teaching as a calling, not simply a job.  His philosophy of teaching is “the best way to learn is to teach” which his students learn quickly.

He is a U.S. Army veteran with combat tours in Panama and the Persian Gulf and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College.  He taught in the California State University system while on assignment from the Army.  This is his fourth year at RA and he is expanding his science role by doing science enrichment in K-5 as “Mr. Tache.

Mr. Vidinha and his beautiful wife Marci, have four children and six grandchildren. He is active in his church, and personal interests include racquetball, coaching, scouting, reading, cooking and hiking with his grandkids.
