Meitzu Chiang

6th Grade Chinese

Ni hao, my name is Meitzu Chiang, I grew up in southern part of Taiwan, Kaohsiung. I was once a high school teacher in Taiwan after I got my MBA degree from National Chiao-Tung University. Because of the good teaching years and my enthusiasm for teaching, I determined to study overseas for professional development. I received my Ph.D from the department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Utah in 2010. After I got my Ph.D, I went back to Taiwan, I have worked and taught in Fu Jen Catholic University for almost 8 years.  In order for my kids to learn English, I came back to Utah to work at Renaissance Academy in 2018. I really enjoy my work here.

I am very passionate about Chinese teaching and learning. I also like to learn new things and attend classes for professional and personal growth. The issue of “how people learn things” has always fascinated me.

In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, and other outdoor activities that I can do with my three kids.  Other than that, I am in love with Utah mountains because my family grew fruit on the mountain. Thus, I like many things that are associated with mountains, Mother Nature really gives me power and calms me down. I’m very grateful to live in such a beautiful place.
