Tell us about yourself!

Hi! My name is Anela Noriega. I grew up in Sugarhouse in Salt Lake City, Utah. I went to BYU and majored in broadcast journalism. I did some television news reporting, mostly entertainment reporting. Then, I got my Master’s Degree from Westminster College in teaching. I am in my 14th year of teaching. Most of my teaching years have been in 6th grade. This is my 4th year teaching 5th grade at Renaissance in the Chinese DLI program, and I love it! I have the best students ever! I have an ESL Endorsement. I also have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement. I have a level 2 teaching license. I began my career teaching math and science, and a couple years into my career I started teaching all subjects. This year, I teach mostly math and language arts, science, and some Social Studies. I love traveling and have been to over 50 countries! I love taking pictures, learning about new cultures, and knowing everything! I always have a smile on my face. I look for the bright side of things, and keep a positive attitude. I love feeding ducks, (bird seeds, not bread)! I love my dog too! I love singing, dancing, and going to concerts. I like to make sure all around me feel special, and that nobody ever feels left out. I can speak some Spanish, & I used to be fluent in French over 20 years ago.I also super love my Chihuahua! He is 2 years old now. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach the best 5th graders around! I love this school, the students, families, and faculty! Go Renaissance!

What is your favorite subject to teach?

I love teaching math... science and language arts too. It's hard to pick just one! :)

What do you love most about education?

I love seeing the difference I can make in students’ lives! I love to help them gain a love for learning, and a belief in themselves and their abilities! I believe in having a happy classroom environment, where students feel welcomed and appreciated. I’m a firm believer in making sure students become good citizens, along with gaining knowledge at school. I love making learning fun!

Is there anything else you'd like Renaissance families to know?

I'm excited to get to know you and your kids!!
