The World Language Program is always looking for volunteers to help with classroom activities, cultural events, and Wonder Days. Our teachers also appreciate help prepping the materials for educational activities. Additionally, we need families willing to feed and/or house guest teachers in training for our Chinese Dual Immersion Program. If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact the Director of Curriculum & World Language, Julie Walker, at jwalker@renacademy.org or Click Here to sign up.

HanBan Trainee Program

Renaissance Academy has been blessed to have several trainees from China come and work with students in our Chinese Immersion Program. They are professionals training to be teachers who come to our school for a year and assist our DLI teachers. While here, they learn about US schools and family life. They live with a Renaissance Academy family and live as they do for the duration of their stay. They assist the teachers by working with groups and individual students to improve their proficiency. They occasionally teach lessons in Chinese and assist in differentiating instruction for each learner. If you are interested in hosting a HanBan Trainee, please contact Julie Walker at jwalker@renacademy.org for more information. A list of host family guidelines can be found here: HanBan Trainee Host Family Guidelines.
