The lottery for the 2020 - 2021 school year has now been run. If you did not receive an acceptance email, you can log into the lottery system and see your student's status/position. If you have any questions, please email Susi at enrollment@renacademy.org. You are still able to enter, but know that you will be placed on our waiting list. Thank you!

LETTER TO PARENTS RE: REGISTRATION PAPERWORK

Dear Parent(s),   

 Please accept the offers, download and complete the Family Packet and Grade Level Packet, as you normally would. Then, please submit your completed registration paperwork (along with copies of the Birth Certificate and Immunizations) via email. 

If you have new incoming Kindergarten student and they have not had their Physical yet, please submit everything else and turn in the Physical form once it happens.

Returning Families

All Renaissance Academy returning families need to turn in the following packet by the start of the new school year.  


Grade 7 immunizations

All 2020-2021 7th grade students, please read the following letter regarding immunizations.

LOTTERY PROCESS

  1. During the first quarter of each calendar year, current students are asked to declare their intention to remain at RA for the following year. When this process is complete, any open positions will be filled through the lottery process, which is conducted at the end of March.
  2. Interested families should apply online (see link below) during the lottery registration period, from January through the end of March. Enrollment is open to students without discrimination based on race, color, gender, disability, or national origin.
  3. When students are selected by the lottery, their families are contacted by email (please ensure that “renacademy.org” is never sent to “junk mail”). Families are given a specific timeframe to respond with acceptance or refusal. Failure to accept within the timeframe will usually mean that the position will be offered to the next applicant on the list.
  4. Renaissance fills all classrooms in a grade level and any remaining students still on the list are placed on a wait list and the families are contacted if an opening occurs before October 1st.
  5. After October 1st, no students from the lottery or wait list are enrolled.

Interested families are invited explore this website and then, if there are any further questions, our friendly staff are available by phone or in a visit. Official tours will take place January through March, after the lottery registration process has begun. Renaissance Academy will make a good faith effort to answer any questions regarding charter schools in general and information about Renaissance Academy.

Those interested in applying may fill out an application online during our lottery registration period (January through March).

If the number of applications exceeds the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or the school, students shall be selected on a random basis through an enrollment lottery. Students not offered a position will be placed on a wait list and they will be offered a position if/when one opens up for their grade. Siblings of students who have accepted a position will be placed a sibling wait list and they’ll receive “sibling preference”.

If a family is offered placement and declines, they will need to re-enroll and enter the lottery for the following school year if they would like to be admitted after declining. All applicants who are not offered positions at the school will need to re-enter the lottery for enrollment opportunities in subsequent years.

The final date for enrolling students in a current year’s class will be October 1st. The School, at its discretion, may make exceptions for this deadline for students with lottery preference, such as founders, children of full time employees, or siblings of enrolled students.

We make every attempt to contact families to inform them of an open position, but it is the responsibility of the families who remain interested to make the effort to ensure their contact information is current.

New Kindergarten Student Registration Requirements

New Kindergarten students need to have the following as a part of the registration process:

  • A copy of the original birth certificate and/or if applicable, a proof of custody, guardianship, or divorce decree
  • Proof of 5 year old immunizations OR an immunization exemption from the Utah State Department of Health
  • Proof that they’ve seen a physician within the last year showing that a vision screening has been done.
