Spelling Bee 2021-22

RA Spelling Bee Registration Information 2021-22

A message from the FEC Spelling Bee Committee:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have made some changes to our School Spelling Bee, however, we are excited about these changes and think it will provide a great opportunity to send not only one student to represent our school, but actually two students to compete at the Regional Spelling Bee.

Please note the following important RA Spelling Bee Information:

*Our RA School Spelling Bee will be held on Thursday, February 24th at 7pm at the school.
*Qualification in class/grade spelling bee will no longer be required to participate.
*Students must be in 3rd-8th grade to enter the school-wide spelling bee.
*Students MUST be registered to participate by February 1st. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER.

The top TWO winners of our School Spelling Bee will be invited to compete at the Regional Spelling Bee on March 26th. The winner of the Regional Spelling Bee will move on to represent Utah at the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.

FAQ

Will my student still have a class/grade spelling bee?
Teachers may choose to still hold a class/grade level spelling bee. These will be excellent practice and experience for your student, however, they will not have any standing on the School Spelling Bee and are therefore, not required. Teachers have a lot on their plates with assessments, preparing google classrooms and other responsibilities, so the majority of classes/grades will no longer be holding school hours competitions - with the expectation that students who would like to participate will register for the FEC Spelling Bee on February 24th.

Why are only grades 3-8 allowed to participate?
The grade qualifications are determined by the Scripps Spelling Bee competition. For students in other grades, we encourage you to participate in your class/grade level bee.
