Tell us about yourself!

In 2010 Anna graduated with a bachelor's degree focused on Performing Arts from BYU-I and taught Theatre and Dance. In 2020, Anna realized that she wanted to expand her teaching repertoire to include her love of languages. She completed the Non-Traditional Educator Preparation Program at the College of Southern Idaho Summer of 2022. This was completed while teaching Spanish at Declo High School, among other subjects. "I am a language enthusiast! I love learning about people and cultures through the process of learning their language. This broadens my world views and paradigms. I currently teach Spanish, but also speak French, I'm working on Russian, and even studied biblical Hebrew in a year-long course. My teaching philosophy encourages students to foster curiosity and social-emotional confidence through risk-taking in a fun and safe environment. My language acquisition philosophy is centered around natural language progression and correlates well with the Renaissance approach."

What is your favorite subject to teach?

I love teaching Spanish and Dance!

What do you love most about education?

I love when students connect with the learning process; they start using questions that lead them to observe, reflect, and summarize their understanding because they feel confident.
