Chelsea Smith

Middle School Math

Miss Smith is in her fourth year of teaching, and is excited for another year of math exploration. During her first year of teaching, she taught 8th Grade Mathematics and Secondary Math 1 Honors at Timpanogos Middle School in Heber City, Utah. The following year, Miss Smith became a part of the Renaissance family, working with students with special needs for the first half of the 2018-2019 school year. She then transitioned into becoming the Middle School Mathematics teacher, teaching 7th, 7th honors, 8th, and 8th honors (SM1) math for the second half of the school year, and following year. She is passionate about education, learning new things every day, teaching and supporting others, and collaborating with her peers. She loves mathematics, and particularly, working with students who need extra support with foundational skills and concepts. One of her goals is to make math a positive and fun learning experience so her students will grow to love problem-solving and learning, just like she does.

Miss Smith loves spending time with her friends, making new friends, and visiting her family back home in Michigan during breaks and holidays. She enjoys going to the movies, watching plays, musicals, and dance performances, crafting, swimming, hiking, biking, and attending Zumba classes. To relax, Miss Smith likes to read, cook and bake, organize, play guitar, and sing (with her sisters, as well as up front at church).
