Tell us about yourself!

I am originally from Alaska but moved to Saudi Arabia at age 9 where I lived until graduating high school. My husband is a California boy so after graduating from BYU we moved to Southern California where we lived for 8 years. We moved to Utah in 2020 with our two young boys. I am an outdoor person and enjoy rock climbing, mountain biking, and paddle boarding. I love to read and gather with close friends and family.

What is your favorite subject to teach?

My favorite subject to teach is history but I was drawn to special education because I love helping students meet targeted goals. There are so many ways to learn and it is like a puzzle for me to figure out which method will work best for each of my students. I do love using informational and historical texts in my reading groups though.

What do you love most about education?

My favorite part of being an educator is that I never stop learning. I love inspiring my students and helping them figure out what works best. I think the best teachers prepare students to be able to and want to learn on their own as adults.

Is there anything else you'd like Renaissance families to know?

Parents are an integral part of the special education program. We cannot do what we do without your support and involvement.
