Tell us about yourself!
My family and I recently moved to Utah from Georgia! Georgia is where I attended high school, college, and spent my first seven years teaching. This past year my husband and I decided to move to Utah to be closer to my family, enjoy the amazing community, and, of course, the mountains. My husband and I have two children and two dogs. When I am not at school, I love to spend quality time with my family, and I also love to read. Reading, was once a struggle for me, however I am now an avid reader. Due to my struggles as a student, I work hard to make sure students become confident readers and find a genre that matches their interests. I am really looking forward to an amazing school year!
What is your favorite subject to teach?
My favorite subject to teach is probably math or science.
What do you love most about education?
There is a lot to love and appreciate in education, however the thing I love most is witnessing the growth and confidence that a student gains over the school year. My goal is always to teach in a variety of ways to allow students to find the way that makes the most sense to them.
This year we are going to learn a lot, and I am looking forward to every minute. Please know that we are a team, and my goal is to work hard and prepare them for 1st grade! Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Licenses / Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education; Masters in Mathematics Education
