Tell us about yourself!

I grew up in northern California and attended University of California, Chico. Before I married I was a music major, I play flute and piccolo and played in a community band for 22 years. I'm married with six children who have gone on to marry and have children of their own, so I get to grandmother 22 little grandies. I love to hike, bike, kayak, study insects, animal behavior, weather and the night skies, and read a lot!

What is your favorite subject to teach?

Hands on Science

What do you love most about education?

The students are the best of education. They need to be our number one consideration, to help them think and learn new things. Not be afraid to try new ideas, ponder new thoughts and go after their dreams.

Is there anything else you'd like Renaissance families to know?

Parents, teachers and students are a team and we need to remember to be kind to each other when things are tough and when the going is great. The key to student success is being able to work together.
