Tell us about yourself!

My name is Sandy Chen (Ms.Chen). I grew up in Xi’an city, Shaan xi Province, China. My home city has a long history of more than 3000 years. My home city is also famous for one of the Eighth Wonder of the World “Terracotta Warriors and Horses”.

I have master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I hold a professional teaching license with DLI and Chinese endorsements. I came to the United states in 2019. Before that, I was teaching Chinese in an international school in Thailand for 4 years. This year is my fifth year working in Renaissance Academy as a first-grade DLI Chinese teacher.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking Chinese dishes, especially the spicy ones. I like to go hiking and skiing. I also like to watch movies and listening to radios.

What is your favorite subject to teach? 

I have a passion for teaching Chinese. 

What do you love most about education?

Teaching is really rewarding and it is so satisfying to see my students making progress every day.
